Sligo Jazz Project’s first Composer-in-Residence Brian Byrne is a Golden Globe nominated creator of film scores and an accomplisehd jazz pianist. Byrne's album “Goldenhair” masterfully interweaves James Joyce's poems with a variety of musical styles from traditional to jazz. The specially augmented SJP Big Band’s All Star line up is the perfect ensemble for Byrne’s creative masterwork.
The album Goldenhair features 21 songs composed by Irish composer Brian Byrne set to poems of James Joyce. It was released on Bloomsday, June 16th 2017 by Node Records.
