Belfast based Flanigan is one of Ireland’s busiest and best jazz musicians, today he teams up with the phenomenal Mike Walker (UK) for some standards in the intimate surrounds of Sligo’s most famous pub.

Speaking of local legends, nobody comes even close to the Jazz Ladds, they have been flying the jazz flag in Sligo for about six decades now!

Sligo Jazz Project’s first Composer-in-Residence Brian Byrne is a Golden Globe nominated creator of film scores and a world class jazz pianist. Byrne's album “Goldenhair” masterfully interweaves James Joyce's poems with a variety of musical styles from traditional to jazz. The specially augmented SJP Big Band’s All Star line up is the perfect ensemble for Byrne’s creative masterwork.

Free Trane is an exploration of John Coltrane’s music. The Trio will focus on some of Trane’s later works, such as Sun Ship and Peace on Earth, and will explore his world of improvisation and free spirit. Free Trane will be uplifting both spiritually and musically for the musician as well as the listener, paying homage to a great visionary.
