To celebrate Ireland's EU Presidency in 2026, Sligo Jazz Project dedicates the first three nights of its festival to the concept of "European Voices", celebrating groundbreaking diversity in Europe. Tonight's double bill is Part 2 of this series. Jasper Høiby, founding member of the celebrated trio Phronesis, leads his new piano trio 3Elements featuring Spanish musicians Xavi Torres and Naima Acuña — a pan-European band that perfectly embodies the creative energy flowing across the EU. They are joined in this double bill by Swedish vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Liselotte Östblom, whose extraordinary range and artistry bridges jazz, gospel and classical tradition.

Jasper Høiby's 3Elements — Lineup
  • Jasper Høiby — Double Bass
  • Xavi Torres — Piano
  • Naima Acuña — Drums

The founding member of Phronesis — one of the most talked-about and acclaimed European bands of the last decade — Jasper Høiby has returned with his new piano trio: 3Elements. With a melodic and bold sound of visceral and kinetic musical interplay, this trio features Xavi Torres on piano and Naima Acuña on drums. Both from Spain, Xavi and Naima are among the most in-demand musicians of their generation, playing with a variety of quality projects all over the world. The third album in the 3Elements series was released in October 2025 on Edition Records.
