Conor Bastible is a Birmingham based pianist studying at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Raised in Sligo, he has taken part on the Sligo Jazz program as a student since 2016 and, before studying in the UK, worked extensively with Kieran Quinn locally, and with Belfast pianist Scott Flanagan. At college, Conor is learning with John Turville, Mike Williams and Liam Noble, as well as making in roads on the Hammond Organ with Ross Stanley. Currently, he holds the piano chair as part of the RBC Afro Cuban Jazz Orchestra as well as helping organise and performing at the monthly Hammond nights at the college’s Eastside Jazz Club. Some of his influences include Chick Corea, Keith Jarrett, Bud Powell and Paul Bley and he hopes to continue to develop musically and artistically through continued practice and writing.
